Cause Of Fatal Westwood Fire Determined
Michael Lennon died in a two-alarm fire at his Tamarack Road home last week.

WESTWOOD, MA – A wood stove caused the two-alarm fire that claimed the life of a 47-year-old Westwood man last week, fire officials said. Michael Lennon, a newlywed who was expecting a daughter with his wife in May, was pulled from his home at 70 Tamarack Rd. Jan. 10 and later died of his injuries at the hospital.
Investigators said the fire started in the living room, according to reports. It is unclear whether it was a failure of the wood stove, a stray ember or flammable material too close to the wood stove that started the blaze.
The fire has been labeled an accident.
