Fire Crews Knock Down Blaze in Frigid Weather

The blaze broke out just after 5 a.m. on Juniper Ridge Road, prompting assistance from Dedham and Norfolk.

WESTWOOD, MA — Three fire departments worked through frigid conditions Tuesday morning to knock down a house fire on Juniper Ridge Road.

Calls came in just after 5 a.m. of a structure fire at 118 Juniper Ridge Road. Multiple alarms were sounded and Dedham and Norfolk fire departments assisted Westwood in the fight, Dedham sending an engine and Norfolk contributing a ladder truck.

Crews battled not only the fire but the weather, with temperatures in the single digits around the time of the blaze. Crews got the fire under control just after 6 a.m. There were no immediate reports of injuries, and fire officials have not yet announced a cause of the blaze.
