This summer, Dedham's Legacy Place has welcomed the community back with the majority of its shops and restaurants reopened for business. The open-air lifestyle destination has debuted several new property-wide offerings while maintaining the protection of its guests and employees in accordance with the new regulations due to COVID-19. Exciting offerings this summer include an incredible new rooftop fitness studio, now home to the Legacy SWEAT outdoor group fitness series, a convenient Pick-Up Quick curbside service, ample patio dining, and increased common-area outdoor seating. In support of its beloved shops, Legacy Place also launched #Storefrontstories, a portrait series shining a spotlight on the personalities behind many of its businesses.

“We are so inspired by the strength of our community and the resilience of our businesses during what has been an extremely difficult time for everyone. We’ve been working hard to implement the best safety practices, cleanliness protocols, and new offerings to ensure our guests and businesses feel their safety and comfort have been prioritized. The efforts of our staff and tenants combined with our open-air environment and the glorious summer weather makes Legacy Place one of the most exciting places to be right now,” says Christa Seychew, General Manager of Legacy Place.

More information on Legacy Place’s safety measures, available offerings and experiences follow below.

Legacy Place’s annual schedule of seasonal outdoor group fitness classes is back! This time the series, billed as Legacy SWEAT, will take place at a brand-new outdoor fitness studio onsite. The 55’ x 120’ area, positioned at the top of Legacy Place’s parking garage (third level), is set away from the normal hustle and bustle of shoppers below. The studio, which overlooks the entire property, was developed to adhere to the state’s social distancing protocols and features areas spaced six feet apart so that each fitness participant can safely workout. Everyone in attendance is strongly encouraged to wear a mask during each workout session. Legacy Place has partnered on this year’s fitness series with property favorite Pure Barre, which has enlisted popular fitness instructors from One Nation Fitness and other local fitness studios to lead the classes. Legacy SWEAT is taking place now through the end of September 2020. Legacy Sweat’s complete schedule of fitness classes can be found here.

Pick-Up Quick Curbside Service

As part of its new offerings, Legacy Place offers Pick-Up Quick, a curbside pickup program providing customers with a safe and convenient option for shopping and restaurant takeout. Designated parking areas labeled by color and number are available throughout the property. These areas support pick-up for any purchases completed over the phone, online or via third-party services. Businesses offering Pick-Up Quick include Carhartt, Henry Bears Park, Justice, Kendra Scott, L.L. Bean, Paper Source, Urban Outfitters, Vineyard Vines, and more. A complete list of participating businesses is being kept up-to-date online.

In-Store & Appointment Based Shopping

Both local and national businesses at Legacy Place have re-opened for in-store shopping at a limited capacity and in compliance with government safety regulations. Shops currently open for in-store browsing include Amazon Books, Anthropologie, Athleta, Altar’d State, Banana Republic, Casper, Claire’s, Free People, Gap, Henry Bears Park, H&M, It’s Sugar, J. Crew, Justice, Kendra Scott, L.L. Bean, lululemon, Pandora, Sephora, T-Mobile, Urban Outfitters, Vineyard Vines, and Williams-Sonoma. In order to meet varying comfort levels, several shops like Casper are offering appointment-based shopping to those who prefer it, while service-based businesses such as Diamond Guild, Lunette Optic, Salon Capri, and SkinMD are open by appointment only.

Outdoor Dining

Guests of Legacy Place can dine outdoors and enjoy the property’s diverse mix of culinary options. Restaurants open for patio service include Caffe Nero, Il Massimo, Kings Dining & Entertainment, Legal C Bar, and Yard House. In addition, indoor dining is available under the state’s reopening protocol at all four restaurants and Kings recently re-opened their bowling lanes and gaming; reservations are encouraged. Fast casual restaurants such as Sweetgreen, Cava, b.good, J.P. Lick’s and Shake Shack offer extensive takeout options, as well as limited dine-in seating. Customers of these restaurants can also enjoy their meals outdoors at Legacy using any of the property’s common-area tables and chairs.

#Storefrontstories

As retailers and restaurateurs navigate, with innovation and tenacity, the unprecedented challenges presented by COVID-19, Legacy Place has showcased this effort with #Storefrontstories. The ongoing digital portrait series celebrates businesses at a time when they need more support than ever. Legacy Place has partnered with local photographer Lindsay Ahern to capture socially-distanced portraits of owners, general managers and/or employees outside of their respective storefronts. So far, featured Legacy Place businesses include Carhartt, Casper, Henry Bear’s Park, lululemon, Shake Shack, and SkinMD. Through photos and video interviews, #Storefrontstories shares uplifting firsthand perspectives across Legacy Place’s digital channels.

Safety & Cleanliness

With guest and staff safety at the forefront, Legacy Place has increased sanitization practices, including thorough and frequent cleaning of all common area spaces with increased focus on high-touch areas, such as doors, trash receptacles and furniture. All efforts make use of CDC-approved disinfectants. In addition, guests and staff are required to wear face coverings as recommended by the CDC and in keeping with local government guidance. For those in need of a face covering, Legacy Place is offering complimentary CDC-approved masks to guests upon request via Legacy Place’s security team. To promote social distancing, visitors and employees will be encouraged and reminded to remain six feet apart by way of helpful signage, as well as adjusted communal spaces and furniture configuration throughout the property. https://legacyplace.com/our-commitment-to-safety/
