Encounter Church's Volunteer Service Group Cleans Up Islington

Westwood's Encounter Church's volunteer service group worked today, July 18, to clean up outside the Islington Community Center, the Islington Branch Library, and the School Street Playground. The dozen volunteers hailed from not only Westwood and Dedham but also Alabama and Georgia. The leader was Benji Suprice, a recent Gordon College graduate. Members of the WestwoodRecreation Department Staff, including director Nicole Banks, also helped.

According to their website, Encounter Church is a Protestant church which "exists to be a catalyst for encounters with Christ that lead to life change." Of its volunteer groups, their site says " We believe God has given your gifts and passions for a reason. We have various volunteers teams each reflecting different gifts and passions. If you are looking to volunteer in the church or in our community we would love to help you find your place because we believe we are better together.
