Heather T. Ford of Westwood applied in April for The Greater Boston Food Bank to receive a grant from The Starbucks Neighborhood Foundation Grants. She received word earlier this month that the request has been granted.

A Barista Trainer at Starbucks University Station, Westwood, Ford has volunteered at the Greater Boston Food Bank for over six years with Have A Hart Day Boston. Ford is the City Captain for Have A Hart Day Boston and also Have A Hart Day’s volunteer coordinator.

“I am extremely excited about this grant--our store on University Ave in Westwood participates in Starbucks' Food Share program and sends food donations to the Greater Boston Food Bank. Westwood Food Pantry is a member agency of the Greater Boston Food Bank. According to Feeding America, one in eight people in Eastern Massachusetts are food insecure. I am grateful I was able to help the Greater Boston Food Bank end hunger here,” says Ford.
