Have a Hart Day to Hold Charity Bake Sale At Dedham Library

The bake sale on December 8 is part of International Have a Hart Day and will benefit No Kid Hungry.

Boston’s Chapter of Have a Hart Day will hold a bake sale to benefit No Kid Hungry at the Dedham Public Library on December 8, 2018 from 10am-12pm. This bake sale will be held as part of International Have a Hart Day (IHAHD) celebration, with Have a Hart Day chapters throughout the USA and the world volunteering on that day.

Boston’s Chapter of Have a Hart Day has been in existence since 2014. Westwood resident Heather T. Ford* has served as captain since 2016. Have a Hart Day is an organization with chapters throughout the world. In 2013, Youtuber Hannah Hart, then best known for her series “My Drunk Kitchen,” toured the country in her “Hello Harto” tour. At each tour stop, she would hold volunteer events. Some areas continued these volunteer events, and Have a Hart Day was born.

No Kid Hungry is a non-profit organization which is a derivative of Share Our Strength and works to end childhood food insecurity. In America, approximately 1 in 6 children face food insecurity. A study by Project Bread suggests that in Massachusetts the number of food insecure children in closer to one in five.
