HESSCO To Hold Free Mental Health First Aid Training March 8

The training in Sharon will be suitable for people including health and human service workers, nurses, and police.

Health and Social Services Consortium, Inc. (HESSCO) and The Community Health Coalition of Metro West (CHNA 7) will host a free training on Mental Health First Aid on March 8 from 9am-5pm. It will be located at Whitney Place At Sharon, 675 South Main Street, Sharon, MA and lunch will be served.

Mental Health First Aid is a training whose goal is to enable the attendee to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or having a mental health crisis. The program states that it wants to make mental health first aid as common as CPR training. This free training is appropriate for health and human service workers; caring citizens; members of faith communities; nurses, care providers; persons with mental illness and their families; policymakers; police, first responders, corrections, and security workers.

HESSCO is an elder services agency whose catchment area includes Westwood. It offers services including home care, caregiver support, and elder protective services.
