HESSCO To Offer Free Suicide Prevention Training

The training in Medfield on September 13 will train attendees in the Question-Persuade-Refer steps to help prevent suicide.

In collaboration with The Community Health Network Area of MetroWest (CHNA 7), Health and Social Services Consortium, Inc. (HESSCO) is offering a suicide prevention training called Question-Persuade-Refer (QPR).

Question-Persuade-Refer is a 1.5-hour training for professionals that teaches people to recognize the warning signs of suicide, learn how to offer hope, get help and save a life. QPR is listed in the National Registry of Evidence-based Practices and Policies. The training is on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Medfield Public Library from 10:30am-12:00pm. Registration begins at 10:15 AM.

The training is appropriate for: health and human service workers; members of faith communities; nurses, care managers; care providers; police, first responders, corrections, and security workers. The training in QPR is offered free of charge with funding by CHNA-7 and coördinated by HESSCO.
