Holiday Giving Program Seeks Sponsors And Participants

Westwood Youth & Family Services (WY&FS) runs a Holiday Giving Program. The program is in its 19th year. If you or your family would like to participate, the deadline is November 2.

This program benefits families in need in Westwood. It is advertised in the District Bulletin, WF&YS’ clients are informed of the program, and its also advertised in the schools. However, families need to directly request to participate. These families make a list of three items which their child(ren) would like to receive.

Gifts come from donors, both individuals and businesses (who also donate gift certificates). Longtime sponsor Dedham Savings Bank has a giving tree for the Holiday Giving Program its customers may join..

Gifts are dropped off at WY&FS’ offices and they distributed the gifts anonymously. “It’s the favorite part of my job!” Says WF&YS’ Administrative Assistant, Mary Ellen Larose.
