Il Massimo To Open at #LegacyPlace Tonight!
As first reported in August, the Dedham location of this Federal Hill mainstay will be located where the former Met Bar was.
Il Massimo opens tonight, January 28, 2019, at Dedham's Legacy Place. The Massachusetts sibling to Providence, RI's Massimo Ristorante promises authentic, seasonal Italian dishes and a warm ambiance.
“IL Massimo brings an element of culinary authenticity and diversity to Legacy Place. We are so excited to have them join the property and introduce an elevated take on Italian cuisine to Dedham,” said Jessica Reed, Marketing Director of Legacy Place. “Their delicious menu offerings are going to be such a huge hit in the area.”
“We are so thrilled to be expanding our Italian roots to Dedham’s Legacy Place,” said Esther DeQuattro, co-owner of IL Massimo. “Our goal is to provide more than a great meal and a great beverage as we believe in providing an exceptional experience. We want our guests to feel that we not only took great care of them but that we know their name, their preferred table, their favorite drink and everything in between.”
The executive chef Jeff Burgess plans on offering not just foods found at Massimo, but also foods exclusive to Il Massimo. Some of these offerings include: Lasagna Bianca con Besciamella featuring “White” Lasagna made with Sage Béchamel, Guanciale and Pecorino Cheese; Spaghetti con Aragosta alla Fra Diavolo, Whole 1/4 lb Local Lobster out of the shell with Spicy San Marzano Tomato Sauce; and Costata di Manzo, a Dry Aged 18oz. Bone in Ribeye with Whipped Potatoes, Rainbow Swiss Chard, Crispy Shallots, Calabrian Chili & Rosemary Butter.

The design of IL Massimo draws inspiration from the graphic patterns of Italian designer Gio Ponti and Venetian architect Carlo Carpa. The restaurant’s décor takes its guests to the historical streets of Italy with its detailed, spacious dining room featuring patterned tile floors, rustic farm tables, cork walls, concentric molding, and herringbone window grilles. This 200-seat eatery pairs rustic and refined elements, giving guests both an elegant and casual Italian experience. IL Massimo will also offer al fresco dining on its outdoor patio during the warmer months, and for more intimate gatherings or seasonal occasions, the restaurant offers a private dining room for 40 guests.
