Important Voter Registration Deadlines are Closer Than You Think
Deadlines to register to vote in Massachusetts' primaries and general elections are soon. Did you know that teens can pre-register?

As July melts away and August approaches, the Massachusetts primaries and general elections are looming closer and closer. Here's what you'll need to know about voting in Westwood. This information is of special importance because earlier this month, Massachusetts' Supreme Court upheld the rule that a person must be registered to vote 20 days before the election.
Here is a link where you can check to see if you are registered to vote, change your registration, and other similar things (find out where you vote here). Teenagers ages 16-17, you can pre-register to vote. Pre-registration means that you can register while underage and your registration will be processed on your 18th birthday and then you can vote. If you are a college student or otherwise an absentee voter, here are the necessary deadlines.
- For the primary:
- The registration deadline is August 15, 2018.
- The primary is September 4, 2018.
- For the general election:
- The registration deadline is October 17, 2018.
- The election is November 6, 2018.
- Early Voting will be Oct 22, 2018 - Nov 2, 2018.
