Joy Found in Tragedy in This Year's Westwood Fireman's Foam
This year's version of the annual event was in memory of the local child who died in November and held at the Sheehan School.

Pleasure and happiness sometimes spring from the worst traumas. Sadly, so it was with the thirtieth Fireman's Foam in Westwood, which was in memory of Eddie Thomson. Today, July 10th, around six hundred people attended the annual event at the Sheehan School.

Deputy Fire Chief Michael Reardon founded Fireman's Foam in Westwood thirty years ago, and as such received a plaque. Deputy Reardon will be retiring this year.

This year's event honored the late Eddie Thomson, a six year-old boy who died after being struck by a car at the intersection of Pond Street and Lakeshore Drive. Robert, his father was seriously injured but survived.
