Lateefah Franck Named New Westwood METCO Director

Franck is currently the METCO head for Lincoln, MA, a position she has held since 2011.

A new METCO Director for Westwood has been selected. Sheryl Goodloe, who has served as Westwood Public School's METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) Director for over twenty-five years, will retire at the end of this school year. Of the three finalists to assume Goodloe's position, Lateefah Franck was selected. Franck served as the METCO director for Lincoln Public Schools since 2011. To quote the press release, "[Franck] was the principal for grades 4 -6 at the Boston Renaissance Charter School, a classroom teacher, a reading specialist, and a recruiter for AMERICORPS. Lateefah holds her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Boston University, an M.Ed. from Lesley and a C.A.G.S. from Simmons. During the interview process, Lateefah demonstrated a deep understanding of and commitment to the mission of METCO; a capacity to forge strong connections with students, staff and parents; and a vision that invites the whole community to roll up our sleeves and get involved so that all children can thrive academically, socially and emotionally."
