Main Library Is Now Back Open In Town Of Westwood

Due to the hard work of our Facilities Department, a temporary chiller was ordered, received and installed. We are happy to report the air conditioning system in the Main Public Library is working. As a result, the Main Public Library is now open under its normal operating hours, however the second floor will be closed until tomorrow Thursday, June 10, 2021.

The temporary air conditioning system is on a trailer located in the rear of the Library. The trailer is taking up approximately seven parking spaces. The trailer has been sectioned off with safety cones and tape, and additional safety measures will be in place within the coming days.

A section of the sidewalk in the rear of the Main Public Library (closest to the building) will be blocked off while the temporary cooling system is in place. Although this may be inconvenient for some this is being done in the interest of safety. The temporary air conditioning system will be used for this year’s cooling season.

We want to thank our Facilities Department for their prompt action our Library team for putting a temporary work plan in place with the focus being on our library patrons and to our residents and patrons for your patience during our temporary schedule.

Effective today, Wednesday, June 9, 2021, the Westwood Main Public Library is reopened and will operate under normal hours of operation, however the second floor of the Library will remain closed until tomorrow on Thursday, June 10, 2021.
