Norwood Art Association Exhibit At Westwood Library All November
The exhibit at Westwood Main Library showcases the artwork of the Norwood Art Association's board members.
The Westwood Library (main branch) is hosting an exhibit of artwork by the board of the Norwood Art Association (NAA) throughout the month of November. "There will be oils, watercolors, acrylics and photographs on display, all created by the NAA Board Members," reports Frannie Downey, NAA President about the "Members of the Board Art Exhibit."
When asked why the Norwood Art Association opted to have an exhibit at the library, Downey responds "Many of our members and Board members are involved in other Art Associations as well and they have had exhibits at the Westwood Library, so we decided to join the club! Also, the library has such a beautiful space - it's well lit, a nice gathering spot and the wall hanging system is so easy to maneuver that it was a perfect space to show our work."
"The Norwood Art Association was established in 1978 by a group of women who were artists and had a love of the arts. The NAA holds free monthly artist demonstrations Sep-Nov and March-May at the Norwood Morrill Memorial Library, for its members and the public. We also provide professional art lessons and two shows annually to showcase the members' artwork. In addition, we have a permanent residence at the Norwood Fine Artists Gallery and Studio at the Winsmith Mill in Norwood, which is run by members of the NAA, where members and guest artists can display their work.

The Norwood Art Association feels it is vital to the community to have an organization that encourages art and a love of the arts. It allows folks to get out and socialize while enjoying and learning a skill that may benefit them in their own creativity. One need not be an artist to be involved, just have an interest," concludes Downey.
