For the past 6 years Mike Walsh has been an honest, accessible, hard-working Selectperson for Westwood and we should re-elect him on June 2nd.
Being the first Selectperson elected in over 40 years from the Islington neighborhood, he has helped reduce the oft-described ‘two town’ feel described by some residents. His efforts at beautifying Islington Square are obvious. Responsible growth that adds true value to the town not simply growth for growth’s sake. His leadership and foresight in helping build new police and fire stations is undeniable. After decades of decline his tenure has resulted in municipal buildings that should last for generations. All built at the lowest possible interest rate while maintaining the high standards of our school system. Under his leadership we’ve had both great schools and excellent town services.

Due to the pandemic, the next few years will see reduced state funding, lower tax revenues, and difficult economic challenges. Now is not the time for on the job training on the Select Board. Mike Walsh has proven he is a smart, steady leader and just the type of person we will need in an uncertain future.
