Recognize An Outstanding Kid Through An R.A.Y Award!

Do you know a youth In Westwood doing great things? Honor them with a Recognize A Youth award from WF&YS and Westwood Rotary!

Westwood Youth & Family Services and Westwood Rotary’s annual search for Recognize-A-Youth (R.A.Y) Award recipients has begun. Recipients will have distinguished themselves through their initiative and commitment to community service. They also will have demonstrated an ethic of caring for others. Past recipients have been honored for acts of kindness both large and small such as: tutoring an elementary school neighbor, raking leaves for a senior citizen, creating a social media campaign to end stereotypes, designing and selling bracelets to fundraise for a non-profit, organizing a clothing collection drive and donating birthday presents to less fortunate children.

To be considered for a R.A.Y award, the youth must reside in Westwood, MA and be age eighteen or younger. They may not have received a R.A.Y Award in a previous year. Family members of WY&FS, its board of advisors, and the Westwood Rotary are not eligible. Nominations must be submitted by someone other than a member of the R.A.Y nominee’s family.

Members of the Westwood Rotary and WY&FS will select the outstanding young people for recognition from the pool of nominees. Recipients will be honored at a Rotary luncheon, receive a certificate of appreciation and a small gift, courtesy of the Westwood Rotary. The R.A.Y. Program will recognize more than one person should a group of young people be nominated for a group community service effort.
