The top Four (And a Bonus!) Cool Things at the Library!
While (dead tree) books are awesome, here are four otherfeatures that the Westwood Public Library has.
If you read my posts here regularly, it probably will not come as a huge surprise to you that I am a huge fan of our local libraries, both the main branch and Islington branches. Although traditional/"dead tree" books are ok, here are five other great features of our local libraries:
- Cool events! Want to go to see Get Out? Want to see Mary Poppins as an interactive experience? These and other events are at the Westwood Public Library-just check the calendar.
- Museum passes! Want to go to the aquarium? How about the new wax museum? Follow the instructions on the website for free or discounted tickets.
- There's a free notary public!
- Not only are there a good deal of eBooks through Overdrive for your ipad, nook, or Kindle, but there are also sites to watch movies and learn languages.
- So this is stretching things slightly, but as a Westwood resident, you live in Massachusetts, right? That fact makes you eligible for a Boston Public Library eCard, which includes access to Lynda.com--great if you're job hunting or if you just want to up your skills.
