The Trendy Girl Now Open In Westwood #ShopSmall

This women's boutique sells clothing, accessories, and Cat Studio items.

Desiree Jackson originally opened her The Trendy Girl boutique in Raleigh, NC. However, she and her husband relocated to this area about a year ago. Thus, The Trendy Girl’s second location in Westwood, MA at 719 High Street was opened. “I really love Westwood and the location was perfect,” says Jackson.

“I do think there is a difference in Northern vs. Southern Women's styles. First, you have a different climate which can make it so that wearing lightweight skirts, shorts, and dresses a bit longer into the Fall. I do think there is a lot more colors and patterns worn in the South. Let's not forget we LOVE our Monograms [in the South]. Everything is monogrammed from the time you are born, which I still do and still love. I feel that the Northern Woman is a very classic, sleek look with darker colors. I am originally from the Northeast and Love both. Black is my staple color in my wardrobe,” explains Jackson of the difference between Northern and Southern fashion.

Jackson reports that the biggest trends for this season are grey and brown animal tones, plaids (such as their Check Me Out hooded wrap, pictured above), and camouflage patterns. She also notes that horn necklaces and initial necklaces are very popular holiday gifts. The Trendy Girl’s store carries up to a size XL, fleece lined leggings that fit sizes 14-18, and Jackson reports that her Raleigh store carries larger sizes and her Westwood store might if there were demand.

The Trendy Girl carries Cat Studio items. “Cat Studio is a really fabulous Gift Line. I decided to sell it because of the quality and how great the company is about not having the market saturated with it. I started selling it in Raleigh and I still do. From their State, to the Collegiate and Destination designs I really feel they set themselves apart with their items. All of their pillows are hand sewn and just beautifully done. The Tea Towels are a big seller they make a great hostess, teacher or really anytime gift,” comments Jackson.

“I started this business because my kids were getting older and I really wanted to do something on my own. I have always enjoyed fashion and as a young girl wanted to be a window designer in a large city. Both my sister and mother love fashion as well. We all three still call each other asking have you seen the latest this or that when new Seasons come. The people of Westwood have been very welcoming. I look forward to a fun-filled Holiday Season. We also offer Home Parties as well. You can contact us on Facebook or Instagram,” concludes Jackson.
