"At My Neighbor's Table Series: What Would Our Communities Look Like If We Valued Essential Workers?" is on December 13 on Zoom.

On December 13, 2020 at 5pm, At My Neighbor's Table will present At My Neighbor’s Table Series: What Would Our Communities Look Like If We Valued Essential Workers? via Zoom. The event bills itself as "COVID-19 has highlighted racial and economic disparities affecting the essential workforce. We will explore who are essential workers and why there are high levels of inequity in how we value and compensate different groups of essential workers."
Speakers at this series will be Smriti Rao, PhD, and Diego Low. Dr. Rao is a professor of Economics and Global Studies at Assumption University in Worcester, MA. She co-authored "COVID-19: Why Policymakers Need A Gender-focused Approach for Health and Economic Recovery." Low is a part of the Metrowest Workers' Center, an immigrant worker-led organization based in Framingham, MA. The MetroWest Workers' Center focuses on " the labor, civil, and human rights of all workers."
