Westwood Cub Scouts will participate in the nationwide “Scouting for Food” Drive again this year. Their food drive benefits Westwood Food Pantry*.

On Saturday, November 16th and 17th, dozens of Westwood Cub Scouts will drop “Scouting for Food” flyers at their neighbors’ doors. The flyer details a request for non-perishable donations to the Westwood Food Pantry. The Cub Scouts will pick up the donations on Saturday, November 23rd.

After the Scouts have picked up all their neighbors’ donations, they will drop them off at Thurston Middle School. Food Pantry members and Westwood High Students will then sort donations by category. After sorting, they will bring them to the Pantry (located behind the Westwood Senior Center).

"Scouting for Food" is the largest donation drive of the year for the Pantry. As the Pantry is sorely in need of donations, Westwood Cub Scouts hopes for strong participation.

Westwood Cub Scouts hope to get more Westwood residents involved in donating to the Pantry, even if they don’t have a Cub Scout in their neighborhood. Residents can drop off donations on Saturday, November 23rd at Thurston Middle School between 11am-1pm. Food Pantry collection bins are also at Town Hall, Roche Bros. Grocery Store, and the Westwood Council on Aging year-round.

  • Progresso soup
  • Cereal
  • Canned fruit
  • Peanut butter
