Westwood Gardens Flower Shop: A Family Business #ShopSmall
Learn more about this Westwood florist, a local business you can patronize this holiday season.

The holidays are coming, and with that comes floral purchases. Patch recent spoke with the owner of Westwood Gardens Flower Shop. It is a Westwood, MA florist which was recommended by the Westwood Recreation Department after they held a Thanksgiving centerpieces class there.
Of its history, owner Ivis Quinchia says “Westwood Gardens Flower Shop was founded by the Buchanan family back in 1964. It was run by a father and his 2 daughters. When the father passed away in October 2003 they sold it to me and my husband to keep it a local family owned business….I’ve been serving the Westwood community for 15 years. I have grown close to many of my customers. The people in Westwood are a tight knit community with many family values.”
Westwood Gardens Flower Shop is a Teleflora florist, and as such they offer delivery worldwide. However, a good deal of its holiday business is people buying flowers in shop or for local delivery. “We actually specialize in custom arrangements. We have a cooler full of custom arrangement that we make daily. We can also take custom orders over the phone. 80% of the arrangements we make are custom. We take pride in our arrangement and take pride in catering to our customers and making them happy,” notes Quinchia. “Most Online florists are just order takers. They make the customer believe them to be a local florist. They are not local florist. If you order directly with my shop you get personalized attention, I will make sure I send your order to a real florist that employs a qualified floral designer and I will take responsibility for your order. Plus you can order online with me as well at www.westwoodgardensflowershop.com 24 hours a day 7 days a week.”

Quincha reports that her favorite part of being a florist is that “everyday is different, I get to create different styles of arrangements everyday depending on my customers wishes. It’s a gratifying experience to make someone smile.”
If you receive flowers this holiday season (or if you’re bringing them to someone) Quincha offers this advice “Get your flowers from a quality reputable Florist, because freshness is of the utmost importance. Recut the stems of your flowers and change the water every few days. Your flower could last up to 2 weeks.”
