Westwood Senior Center To Close During June 2020

Owing to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the senior center will close all June. Classes are on cable, Zoom, and Meals on Wheels is continuing.

The Westwood Senior Center will be closed the month of June. "As this health crisis continues, we are making decisions month to month," says Council on Aging director Lina Arena-DeRosa.

All special programs, trips, and events have been cancelled through Summer 2020. The Senior Center's goal is to reschedule everything at the appropriate time; but that may be a long time from now.

The good news is that a number of the Senior Center's classes (yoga, exercise, line dancing, music) are now running on cable and more Zoom classes will be forthcoming (presently Zoom cooking classes and current conversations are limited to Westwood residents). "We are also hopeful to add more zoom and cable classes in the next few months," explains Arena-DeRosa.
