Westwood resident Ed Halpin III and Seekonk's Ed Halpin, Jr. were the first two registrants for Athol's 2019 River Rat Canoe race, the Athol Daily News reports. The River Rat Race is a canoe race from Athol to Orange along the Millers River. The 2019 River Rat Race is the 58th running of this race, and will be held on April 13, 2019 at 1pm.
