Woman Arraigned In Crash That Killed Westwood Boy

A 20-year-old woman faces several charges in the fatal November crash.

WESTWOOD, MA – A Westwood woman was arraigned Tuesday in connection with a fatal crash Nov. 19. Edward "Eddie" Thomson, 6, was killed and his father was seriously injured when they were struck while in a crosswalk by Pond Street and Lakeshore Drive.

The boy's sister and the family dog were with them at the time.

Anne Marie McInnis, 20, pleaded not guilty to charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and civil motor vehicle violations at her arraignment Tuesday. The judge set a motion hearing for the felony charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, which her attorney filed a motion to dismiss prior to arraignment.

She was released on personal recognizance. McInnis is due back in court May 22 for a pre-trial conference.
