Boston Marathon Movie to be Shot in Weymouth
Scenes for "Patriots Day" will be shot at SouthField.

WEYMOUTH, MA - The runway of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station will become a streetscape for a Mark Wahlberg movie about the Boston Marathon bombing.
Town officials told the Boston Globe that “Patriots Day” will be shot at SouthField Weymouth, They say that the film has all the proper permits, making it the second movie to film on the redeveloped property.
Last year, scenes for "Ghostbusters" were filmed in an old hanger.

Another movie will be filmed in town according to the Patriot Ledger. While SouthField officials are tightlipped about what will be filmed. The Massachusetts Film Office lists "Stronger," a movie based on the book by bombing survivor Jeff Bauman as the only other film in production.
