Coronavirus: Weymouth Issues Emergency Face Covering Advisory

Weymouth Board of Health advisory comes as the town confirms 391 positive tests of the new coronavirus as of Thursday.

WEYMOUTH, MA — Weymouth Health Officials have issued an "emergency face covering advisory" to town residents for whenever someone is within 6 feet of someone else in public, and at a business or in a residential building with one than one unit. Health Officials said in the statement that the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office has told towns that they "may only advise or recommend the wearing of face coverings."

The advisory comes as the town reported 391 positive cases of the new coronavirus as of Thursday.

The advisory said that proper face coverings cover the entire mouth and nose, and are "strongly advised" to be worn when entering any business, when entering any residence or business with more than one unit, and by employees that interact with the public or are within 6 feet of a coworker.
