Driver Killed In Fiery Overnight Crash In Weymouth
State Police said the driver of an overturned Dodge Charger was pronounced dead on the scene near Exit 16 on Route 3 South.
WEYMOUTH, MA — The driver of a Dodge Charger that overturned and caught on fire on Route 3 early Saturday morning was pronounced dead on the scene. State Police said troopers arrived out of the Norwell barracks about 2:14 a.m. and found flames coming from the crash in the center median near Exit 16.
State Police said the driver was trapped inside and pronounced dead when the flames were extinguished.
A preliminary investigation determined the car veered from Route 3 southbound and rolled over into the center median where it crashed and caught on fire. The driver, who has not been identified, was the only person in the car.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Troop D of the State Police with help from the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office and the Weymouth Fire Department.
