East Weymouth Resident Inducted Into National Honor Society
BC High student Ben Edge is now a member of the Robert J. Fulton, SJ Chapter of the National Honor Society.
WEYMOUTH, MA — An East Weymouth resident has been inducted into the Robert J. Fulton, SJ Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) at Boston College (BC) High School, said the school in a news release Monday.
Ben Edge, a student in the class of 2022, successfully applied for the membership and is being recognized for attaining a high standard of scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
NHS was created by the National Association of Secondary School Principals to recognize juniors and seniors who have distinguished themselves in their school and community.
At BC High, students who apply for membership must be up to date with their community service hours, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5, be a positive presence in their classes, show initiative and dependability, work well with other students, exhibit a strong work ethic, and demonstrate openness to growth.

Applicants are judged by a committee of BC High teachers and, following induction, NHS members are expected to serve the school community as tutors and ambassadors.
Founded in 1863, BC High School is Jesuit, Catholic, college-preparatory school for boys in grades 7 to 12. The school currently has approximately 1,500 students from over 140 communities in eastern Massachusetts.
