If there's something strange in the neighborhood, specifically SouthField, chances are it's the filming of the new Ghostbusters film.The crew for the Paul Feig-directed film is expected to film at the new movie studio at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station this week<a href="http://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/names/2015/08/30/ghostbusters-cast-grows-with-local-names/kB8muJZwmMixDqElDa5WOP/story.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> according to the Boston Globe.</a>Featuring Kristen Wiig, Chris Hemsworth, and Melissa McCarthy, the film has been shooting across the Boston area over the past few weeks, most recently shooting at Borderland State Park in Easton.The new studio is part of the redevelopment of the former air base's hangar. LStar president Kyle Corkum <a href="http://www.necn.com/news/business/Ghostbusters-to-Film-in-Weymouth-Mass-321317421.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">told NECN </a>that the building was originally going to be used for indoor sports, but a few days after LStar Management purchased the property, Columbia Pictures called to inquire about using it as a movie studio.About $500,000 has been invested repairs for the hangar.
