Weymouth January Home Sales Rises From 2012-13

Single-family home sales in Massachusetts rose more than 10 percent in January, according to the Warren Group

Sales in Massachusetts reached 2,680, the highest level since 2007, according to new data from The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman. January home sales in the Bay State were up over last year's 2,436 sales.

This is the highest January sales volume for single-family homes in Massachusetts in five years, when there were 2,953 transactions in January 2007.

In Weymouth, 27 homes sold in January 2013 compared with just 19 in Jan. 2012.  However, the median sale price for the first month of the year slightly dipped from $270,000 to $269,000.
