WEYMOUTH, MA — The Animal Rescue League of Boston is looking for help taking care of a family of Weymouth puggles until they are ready for adoption.

Weymouth Animal Control Officer Michael Parker helped find Robin, a missing 2-year-old Puggle who took off from a grocery store parking lot in Hingham while pregnant in May, and was captured using a humane trap on Thursday. The Animal Rescue League said the owners of Robin, the mother, and her five puppies agreed to turn them over to the ARL for veterinary care and adoption.

Given the age of the pups, the family of puggles will be placed into foster care until ready for adoption.

The ARL of Boston said Robin took off from the grocery store on Route 3A in Hingham in late May and was seen weeks later in a small wooded area of Weymouth with some puppies. The owner was contacted and was able to retrieve the puppies, but was not able to capture Robin.

With the help of food and the humane trap, the Weymouth Animal Control Officer was able to capture Robin and bring her to a local veterinarian. The Animal Rescue League said the owner agreed to surrender the dogs so they could be brought to the Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center for further care.
