Moonlight & Miracles Gala Set for Oct. 19
The signature black-tie event will be held at Starland Sportsplex & Fun Park

Starland Sportsplex & Fun Park, formally known as The University Sports Complex in Hanover, is the site of South Shore Health System Foundation’s 16th annual Moonlight & Miracles Gala.
The black-tie dinner dance, to be held on Friday, October 19th at 6:00 p.m. is the signature fundraising event on the South Shore, with more than 600 people expected to attend.
“Everyone who attends the Moonlight & Miracles Gala is helping to support South Shore Hospital’s clinicians in delivering life-sustaining care to our friends and neighbors,” said Krista DiRico, Esq., Moonlight & Miracles Gala Committee Chair.

This year, all proceeds will help support South Shore Health System’s critical care program, including recent construction of a new intermediate care unit.
The critical care program at South Shore Health System is led by a superb team of board-certified intensivists, pulmonologists, surgeons and anesthesiologists. To mirror this clinical excellence, the organization recently built The Richard and Joann Aubut Critical Care Unit, a state-of-the-art 24-bed CCU which opened in October of 2017.

The project recently completed a renovation of the hospital’s previous CCU to become an Intermediate Care Unit. The new unit provides a space for patients who are too ill for a general Medical/Surgical floor, yet do not need the intensive level of care found in the CCU.
“The Gala is an extraordinary evening,” said Gene E. Green, MD, MBA, President/CEO of South Shore Health System. “We are truly grateful for the community’s charitable support of the Aubut CCU and the critical care platform at South Shore Health System. Thank you to all of our sponsors and attendees.”
The spacious Sportsplex is transformed into an elegant oasis where people from across the South Shore come together to enjoy dinner, dancing and an opportunity to support a great cause. The Gala will feature both live and silent auctions, where guests may bid on one-of-a-kind items and experiences – such as trips and artwork and a fun interactive wine pull.
Radio and TV personality Billy Costa returns as the Gala’s Master of Ceremonies. Deep appreciation is extended to the entire volunteer Moonlight & Miracles Gala Committee.
