National Grid To Remove Utility Poles In Weymouth
Helicopters will be used in the removal of poles for the transmission line near Weymouth High School starting Monday.
WEYMOUTH, MA — Those in the vicinity of Weymouth High School up to Route 18 should expect to see some commotion on the roads and in the air next week as National Grid removes utility poles as part of a project to maintain reliability of the system. National Grid sent a letter to homes and businesses in the area letting them know the work is planned Feb. 17 through Feb. 21 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. during school vacation week.
National Grid said the poles will be lifted and flown via helicopter to the Weymouth High School parking lot where they will be loaded on trucks and towed away. National grid said those in the area should expect to see construction crews traveling through the vicinity in helicopters.
