Proposed Weymouth Landing Project Hits Road Block
The project on Commercial Street is going back to the drawing board.

WEYMOUTH, MA — Plans to bring a mixed-use building to the Weymouth Landing has hit a speed bump.
Developer Nick Delegas received town approval for a four-story building with 87 apartment units and about 10,500 square feet of commercial space at 4-48 Commercial St., but the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is halting the project in its current state. The group says that constructing a foundation over an existing drainage culvert on the property would cost too much and create liability issues, according to the Patriot Ledger.
That means it's back to the drawing board and a new plan must be approved by the zoning board of appeals. Construction may not start until next year.
