South Shore Health In Weymouth Opens Behavioral Health Facility

The company will now offer behavioral health and substance use disorder programs at a new facility.

WEYMOUTH, MA — South Shore Health has opened a new facility for its behavioral health and substance use disorder (SUD) programs as part of an effort to expand these services, said the company in a news release Monday.

The two programs, which are part of the Grayken Center for Treatment, will now be located across the street from South Shore Hospital at 797 Main Street.

“So many people are touched by substance use disorders and behavioral health challenges, and too few receive the care they deserve,” said Todd Kerensky, MD, Director of Addiction Medicine Services at South Shore Health, in a statement. “The programs offered in this new location will help patients and families faced with these challenges, allow us to expand our services, and ensure that treatment is accessible to anyone who needs it.”

The Grayken Center for Treatment at South Shore Health was established in 2019 and driven by a $10 million donation from John and Eilene Grayken of Cohasset. It includes an outpatient bridge program for adults with substance use disorders and has treated over 600 patients.

The center also offers a perinatal behavioral health program and sub-program known as SHORE (Supporting: Hope, Opportunity, Resilience, Empowerment) that provides behavioral health and SUD treatment for women who are pregnant or post-partum.

The Grayken Center will continue to support South Shore Health by integrating behavioral health clinicians in its ambulatory sites, establishing rapid care treatment for people with SUD, and implementing its Mobile Integrated Health program for emergency care. It also encourages South Shore Health’s collaboration with Aspire Health Alliance and the Office Based Addiction Treatment program at Boston Medical Center.
