The $1 billion redevelopment of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station has a new name.

Weymouth, MA — The $1 billion redevelopment of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station has a new name.

On July 7, SouthField announced that they are now Union Point. The announcement came on the development's Facebook page as part of an effort to emphasize the unity of the three towns that are on the property.

"We also have two Union Streets that terminate at our site, one in Rockland and one in Weymouth. Union Point represents the collaboration of the public officials and private citizens… the harmony of developed areas and open space… and the balance between sustainable principles and aspirational design," the announcement read.
