National Water Main Cleaning Company (NWMCC), the Town’s contactor, will be performing daytime sewer cleaning and television inspection and nighttime sewer flow isolation. Nighttime flow isolation will be performed Sunday night through Thursday night, between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Flow isolation is a method of quantifying the amount of groundwater (infiltration) in the sanitary sewer system. To perform this work, NWMCC will be required to remove the existing sewer manhole covers to enter the sewer system and some minor noise disturbances may result.

This project is part of a program Weymouth is working on to reduce the amount of infiltration and rainwater (inflow) entering the sewer system. Through this program, sources of infiltration and inflow (I/I) will be identified and removed. When these sources are removed, the quantity of flow entering the Weymouth sanitary sewer system and the risk of sewer backups and overflows will be reduced.
