Town Of Weymouth Tree Work For DEP's Air Monitoring Station

'We will plant during the spring planting season replacement trees and create screening to replace the trees cut today.'

February 22, 2021

Today, February 22, 2021, DPW staff were cutting trees on Town-owned land at 59 Monatiquot Street (near the corner of Bluff Road) to allow installation of DEP's air monitoring station. EPA guidelines require no trees within a certain distance of the 8x8x12 foot shed-type building that will be the actual air monitoring station.

With the trees now cut, DEP's contractor will be able to install to the building and have it operating within the next few weeks. We will plant during the spring planting season replacement trees and create screening to replace the trees cut today.
