'Unsubstantiated Threat' Delays Weymouth High School Opening

Officials called a three-hour delay Monday morning so police could investigate.

WEYMOUTH, MA – Weymouth High School has a delayed opening Monday morning due to what officials called an "unsubstantiated threat." School administrators said school will open at 10:30 a.m. so police have time to investigate the threat.

Bus routes will be delayed three hours from the normal time. Officials stressed that the delay is out of an abundance of caution.

"Student and staff safety is of the upmost importance to us, so it is with this in mind that we believe it is best to delay the start of school today," according to a statement from Weymouth Public Schools.
