Training for and completing a fitness challenge is rewarding, especially when fundraising for your favorite cause. South Shore Health is offering a Virtual Training Experience that helps you achieve a personal fitness or endurance milestone while supporting a program or cause close to your heart.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has canceled or postponed many popular athletic fundraising events, Team South Shore Health’s Virtual Training Experience allows you to fundraise for a program or service of your choice, personalize your fitness goal, and experience professional coaching support.

“This is an opportunity to do something special for yourself and others,” said Erin Labbe, South Shore Health Foundation, Philanthropy Officer, who oversees the Virtual Training Experience program. “Whether it’s walking a 5K or running a marathon, the Virtual Training Experience is an excellent option to help you achieve your goals while supporting South Shore Health.”

How does it work?

1. Choose any program within South Shore Health to fundraise for, such as: behavioral health and substance disorders programs, cancer care, hospice care, pediatrics and more!

2. Set a training goal: Choose a 5K, 10K, half marathon or full marathon (Boston Marathon excluded).

3. Create a personal fundraising page: As part of the Virtual Training Experience, you will receive professional fundraising support, including tips and tricks for meeting your fundraising goals.

4. Follow the virtual fitness training program provided by professional coach, Rick Muhr: Areas of focus include, improving your walking/running form, nutrition and hydration, post-workout recovery, proper shoe and apparel selection and much more!
