Weymouth Elementary Schools Track And Field Meet This Week

WEYMOUTH, MA – The Weymouth Elementary School Track and Field meet will be held this Thursday, June 15 at the Weymouth High School track. Registration will take place from 4:30-5 p.m. and the competition will run from 5-8 p.m.

Third and fourth graders from the Academy Avenue, Frederick C. Murphy, Ralph Talbot, Wessagusset, Thomas W. Hamilton, William Seach, Thomas V. Nash, Lawrence W. Pingree elementary schools may participate.

The meet is free and is coordinated by Mrs. Tuplin's fourth grade class at Academy Avenue primary school.

Meet Highlights:

• Emma March, Casey Rockman, Sam Vergara, Pragati Joshi, and Daniella Stanton will be singing the Star Spangled Banner as our opening song to start the event
• The following track and field events will offered: 100m, 200m, 400m ,800m and relays PLUS long jump, shot put, turbo jav, and standing broad jump
• Athletes compete as individuals and as a school team
• Ribbons will be awarded from 1st-6th place, and there will be awards for Most Spirited Athlete, Best Overall Athlete in each grade and within each school
• The winning school will receive a trophy
