Weymouth Hires Athletic Director, Dean Of Students
New AD Robert O'Leary comes from Portland, Maine; Dean of Students Jennifer Mendicino was assistant principal at House of Corrections.
WEYMOUTH, MA — Weymouth Public Schools have filled two important positions in the district one month ahead of the start of the new school year.
Jennifer Mendicino is the district's new Dean of Students, while Robert O'Leary is the new Director of Physical Education and Athletics.
"We are pleased to have two new additions joining the high school's administrative team for the 2020-21 academic year," Superintendent Jennifer Curtis-Whipple said. "We're excited to have both of them join our team, and for this new chapter at Weymouth High School."

Mendicino and O’Leary will begin in their new roles on Sept. 1.
Mendicino comes to Weymouth after serving as assistant principal for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections in Milton. There she supervised teachers and education specialists and developed and implemented curriculum, while administrating standardized assessments.

She has also worked as a school counselor and has experience as a social worker and substance abuse clinician.
She has her Master's of Education degree in school counseling from Keene State College and is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of New England.
Mendicino will work with a designated group of students over the group's four years at Weymouth High.
O'Leary will oversee the district-wide athletics and physical education departments.
He was the Portland Public Schools athletic co-curricular director in Portland, Maine, where he was responsible for 17 varsity and 23 sub-varsity reams, as well as more than 50 clubs and activities.
He has also served as AD in Saugus and Winthrop.
O'Leary has a bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in sports management from New England College in Henniker, N.H.
