Weymouth To Host Remote Learning Information Session
Weymouth Schools plan to issue remote learning devices to each student due to the level of distance learning expected this school year.
WEYMOUTH, MA — Weymouth Public Schools are working to provide every student in the district a device to take home due to the amount of remote learning that will be expected amid the coronavirus health crisis this school year.
The district has been awarded a Remote Learning Technology Essentials grant to support district efforts to provide technology accesses needed for distance learning. Weymouth Superintendent of Schools Jennifer Curtis-Whipple said the plan is to issue iPads to pre-kindergarten students and Chromebooks to students in grades 1 through 12 as part of the district's 1:1 Chromebook Initiative.
A virtual learning session will be held for parents on Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. to discuss the program. The session will take place on Zoom with access provided here.
