Weymouth Man Hired As Senior Director At Greater Boston Food Bank
David Giagrando will oversee institutional giving, donor relations, and special events.
WEYMOUTH, MA — The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB), the largest hunger-relief organization in New England, has hired a Weymouth resident as Senior Director of Development.
David Giagrando, a South Shore native and experienced development leader, will oversee institutional giving, donor relations, and special events for the organization.
“I look forward to working creatively to develop programs and special events that engage GBFB’s network of supporters, said Giagrando in a statement. “I’m proud to be working for an organization that is leading the way in expanding access to healthy food as the demand for food continues to rise here in Eastern Masschusetts. I look forward to contributing to the mission to end hunger here alongside a very talented team.”

Prior to joining GBFB, Giagrando was the AVP of Corporate Parterships at The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and has worked for several other non-profit organizations and higher education institutions. Giagrando graduated from Brandeis University with a bachelor’s degree in general studies and humanities and is a board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Massachusetts Chapter.
“David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in non-profit development and revenue generation, and we’re grateful to have him on our team,” said Arlene Fortunato, Senior Vice President of Advancement at GBFB, in a statement. “This has been a year unlike any other, with the need for food assistance in Eastern Massachusetts persisting at historic levels. Our fundraising efforts are more important now than ever.”
