Weymouth Police Charge Randolph Man After High-Speed Chase, Crash

A Randolph man is facing multiple charges after Weymouth police said he led them on a high-speed chase on Thursday.

WEYMOUTH, MA — A Weymouth man with a history of motor vehicle violations is facing more of them after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended with a crash near the Fore River Bridge on Thursday. Dylan Costello, 25, was charged with failure to stop for police, leaving the scene of an accident and two counts of reckless endangerment of a child after police said he led them on the chase through Weymouth Heights to the bridge.

Police said Costello was spotted speeding in a black Nissan Sentra and a pursuit began after initial attempts at a traffic stop were unsuccessful. Surveillance video in town showed police chasing the Sentra at high rates of speed. Additional police cars joined in the chase before Costello struck two cars at the start of the overpass and came to a stop.

Police said there were four people in the car — including a 17-year-old girl and a 4-year-old girl.
