Wilmington Coronavirus: Town Delays Property Tax Due Date
The Wilmington Board of Selectmen voted Monday to postpone the property tax deadline one month.
WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington property tax due date has been postponed to June 1 in response to the new coronavirus. The Board of Selectmen voted Monday to delay the due date one month, as well as waiving certain fees and interest for late payment of other bills.
The Board "voted to waive interest and other penalties for late payment of any excise tax, bill for water or sewer, or other charges added to a tax for any payments with the due date on or after March 10, 2020 where payment is made after its respective due date but before June 30, 2020," Finance Director Bryan Perry said.
Both moves were made possible by state legislation passed in response to the new virus.
