Are you a fan of local beer and want to try out some brews you've never had before this summer? If so, consider these four recommendations from the folks at Winchester-based Craft Beer Cellar New England Annex:
1. Cisco's Summer of Lager: "It's one of my personal favorites," said Suzanne Schalow, co-owner of Craft Beer Cellar locations in Belmont and Winchester. The Nantucket-based beer is "a light, crisp, clean lager, and I'm all about cans," Schalow added.
2. Mayflower's Summer Rye Ale: "It's a nice little saison-style (beer) that's 3.8 percent (alcohol by volume), with a little bit of rye that gives it some spicy, tangy kick and it's super refreshing to drink," said Kate Baker, who co-owns both Craft Beer Cellar locations with Schalow. "I love the low alcohol so you can really enjoy this on a hot summer day. It's definitely one of my favorites."
3. Beer Works' Rosemary IPA: "It's a nice IPA for the summer," said Nicholas Vaughn, a self-professed "beer geek" from Chelmsford who works at the Craft Beer Cellar in Winchester. "The rosemary is very prominent."
4. Clown Shoes' Tramp Stamp:Â "It's a Belgian Indian pale ale and it's completely different from any other pale ale you have because it's Belgian yeast so it has this nice sweet flavor for the summer," Vaughn said.
