"Gifted 101" at Winchester Public Library

Acera School founder Courtney Dickinson to give free presentation for parents and educators

On November 27, Winchester Public Library will host “Gifted 101,” a free presentation and discussion with Courtney Dickinson, a leader in gifted education in Massachusetts. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 27, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

The discussion will address questions such as: what are the different kinds of profiles of gifted children? What are some early indicators that a child is gifted? How can parents and educators meet the needs of today’s gifted children?

Dickinson is director and founder of Acera: The Massachusetts School for Science, Creativity, and Leadership. Founded in 2009, Acera is a non-profit STEM school serving high-ability students in grades K-8. The school engages students in individualized, inquiry-based learning that is designed around their passions and aligned with their own abilities. In addition to K-8 education, Acera offers daily after-school enrichment programs as well as February, April, and summer vacation camps. For more information, visit aceraschool.org.
