Heat Advisory Hits Winchester

Here is some information to get you through Wednesday, June 20.

1. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Winchester till 7 p.m. as temperatures are expected to reach as high as 98 degrees today. The day will be mostly sunny with the night's temperatures only dipping down to a low of 74 degrees.

2. A heat advisory indicates temperatures could reach up to 102 degrees and is dangerous for individuals spending prolonged periods outside. Heat illness becomes more possible with the high temperatures and high humidity. The NWS suggests avoiding prolonged work in the sun or poorly ventilated areas, stay in air-conditioned buildings, drink plenty of fluids and frequently check on neighbors and relatives.
